Merv Miller Builder is known for taking the extra step to add the personal touch to each home to make it unique and personal for each owner. That attention to detail has propelled the family-owned company to become one of the premier homebuilders in Lancaster County.
The Millers’ talent as a team has led to five Fulton Bank Awards in the annual Parade of Homes by the Building Industry Association of Lancaster County. The Fulton Bank Award is presented to the best of the homes specifically selected for the Parade of Homes each year. One of the Millers’ prize-winning homes scored 416 points out of the possible total of 418 points. In addition to the prestigious Fulton Bank Award, Merv Miller Builder has garnered many other best-of-show and remolding awards
Merv Miller started his business in 1972, building homes, commercial structures and farm buildings in Lancaster and surrounding counties. In 1983, Merv decided to focus his attention on custom home building and began creating his own home designs. Merv’s son Greg joined the business in 1990 as a teenager and Merv’s wife Anna Mae handles the company bookkeeping.
Greg now runs and manages Merv Miller Builder, working hands-on in every aspect of the business. Greg does all the drafting for the company, is one of the construction managers, and handles all the sales. He is also personally involved in every step of the design and build, guiding clients through what can otherwise be a stressful experience.
While Merv is enjoying retired life, he still finds his way to the job sites every now and then to lend a helping hand. He still loves locating the house on the lot with the clients and taking on excavating duties.
Greg and Merv often work together on home design and use those skills to enhance the quality and variety of plans they are able to present to a client. While some buyers come to the Millers with plans that they help modify to the client’s desires, most customers start with a wish list and ideas that Greg and his team expertly transform into the buyer’s dream home.
